Merlot
The gravel based soils of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge allow Merlot grapevines to achieve beautiful natural form. The Rose Garden Vineyard has a gentle easterly slope, which allows these vines to enjoy the first sunshine of the day, as well as being able to watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean. This Merlot wine has aromas and flavours of plums, wild berries and black cherries. The tannins are ripe, supple and carried by lively acidity.

The 2009 Laurance Shiraz greets you with a purple hue around its dense red smile. Aromas of raspberries, allspice, blackberry and a hint of vanillin provide a warm invitation. The mid-palate tannins are refined, lingering and in harmony with succulent acidity, which fades gently to a blueberry finish. A nicely balanced wine, currently showing the bright fruits of youth, yet with the substance and concentration to reward careful maturation.
